The City Avenue Special Services District is embarking on capital improvements in the District including drainage upgrades, enhancements to pedestrian safety, and intersection improvements.
These improvements as Five Star Bank reports are part of Phase II of a three-phased Streetscape Improvement Plan. Phase II is a $5.1 million project is expected to be completed early this Fall. Phase II is a $5.1 million and is financed [in part] by a grant from: The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority, PennDOT, The City of Philadelphia, St. Joseph’s University, Montgomery County, and the City Avenue Special Services District.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. City Avenue will have single lane closures through early Fall 2020, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. City Avenue Special Services District will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
