How has FOTCHT helped you in your career development?
Being a volunteer board member for FOCHT has helped with my full-time job as a manager of a
small foundation. I work with many nonprofits of all sizes and seeing the work of a small, hyper-
local, and fully-volunteer run organization has given me insights on how better to work with the
foundation’s grantee partners and understand their needs and frustrations.
What are 3 words to describe FOTCHT?
FOCHT is: community-focused; collaborative; sustainable
What has been your favorite initiative at FOTCHT?
My favorite thing has been gathering feedback from our community regarding their needs for the
trail and designing, ordering, and getting new signs installed to help with the flow of traffic on
this busy multi-use trail.
What is the first concert you ever attended?
My first concert was Prince- the Purple Rain tour in March 1985 at Nassau Coliseum on Long
Island. I wish that I had saved all my ticket stubs from the concerts I went to as a teenager and
young adult (and those concert shirts and “merch” as they now call it).
What is your favorite thing to do in City Ave District?
I love how I can walk to area stores- like the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center—and also walk in
nature (Cynwyd Heritage Trail) all in the span of less than a mile from my home and so close to
Center City.
Is there anything special about City Ave that you can share?
City Ave has been a great partner to FOCHT, because they are collaborative and work
hard to provide diverse opportunities for both the business and the residential community
in our area to connect.
