An Amazing Week:

Share Our Joy!

Last week was an amazing week for Inglis. Our newest housing community, Inglis Gardens at Belmont (on the property right next door to Inglis), received its first residents. Many came from Inglis House and are realizing their dreams of transitioning to independent living. Several more Inglis House residents who choose to live independently will make their move in August.

To see the happiness on the new Belmont residents’ faces as they took possession of their apartments is an experience I’ll never forget.

Our partners at Philadelphia Housing Authority, PA Housing Finance Agency, Home Care Associates, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and Magee Rehab have been appreciative of the ease with which the moves took place and the “can-do” spirit of everyone involved.  Here is what a few of our colleagues had to say:

“It’s exciting to see this project come to fruition. These 80 new apartments for people with disabilities and other qualified families is made possible through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, ensuring the both the stability and affordability of the community.”

—Brian Hudson Sr., Executive Director and CEO , PA Housing Finance Agency

“I am very proud to work on a project that is so positive and impactful.”

—Michael A. Becker, DO, MS, FACOFP, Professor, Dept., Family Medicine, PCOM

“Congratulations to the Inglis team for their vision. Watching the faces of the individuals finally getting a chance to live independently has truly been a rewarding experience.”

—Vernice Wooden, Continuum of Care Supervisor, Magee Rehab

As you can see, many people and organizations have played, and will continue to play, a part in this amazing accomplishment and advancing our mission to provide housing options for people with disabilities.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our residents to experience Ability & Independence wherever they may choose to live.

Sincerely,

Gavin Kerr
