Beloved Bryn Mawr Market returns for the season, as Bala Cynwyd joins in partnership to expand access to fresh, local food

Bala Cynwyd, PA – The Lower Merion Farmers Markets are back for the 2025 season with an exciting new update: a joint partnership between Bryn Mawr and Bala Cynwyd, expanding the beloved community market to better serve residents across the township.

The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market will continue all year with current summer hours every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM at 7 N. Bryn Mawr Ave. The Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market will operate every Wednesday from 3 PM to 6 PM at One Bala Plaza (231 St. Asaph’s Road) through October.

Both markets feature a curated and rotating roster of regional farmers and producers offering seasonal produce, meats, dairy, eggs, baked goods, flowers and specialty food items. Shoppers can look forward to connecting directly with growers, enjoying live entertainment and experiencing the vibrant spirit of the neighborhood.

Lower Merion Farmers Markets’ operator, City Ave Development Corporation, a local nonprofit, took over operations at both Bryn Mawr and Bala Cynwyd following the recent retirement of Bob Pierson, the longtime director of Farm to City.

“This expansion reflects our deep commitment to building community through food,” said Bryan Fenstermaker of City Ave Development Corporation, who oversees the markets. “We’re deeply appreciative of the hard work and dedication of Bob Pierson to grow these markets into what they are today. The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market has become a cornerstone of weekend life on the Main Line, and the Bala Cynwyd location makes fresh, local, and sustainable food even more accessible to residents and employees in the area. Whether you’re picking up produce for the week or connecting with neighbors, the markets are truly where community comes to life.”

The Lower Merion Farmers Markets are operated in partnership with the Township of Lower Merion and local stakeholders to promote healthy lifestyles, support local agriculture and strengthen the township’s small business economy.
