Meet Nicole Murphy, Owner of Florals & Scrubs!

Working as a vascular technologist during the day and a florist at night, Nicole decided to turn her hobby into a stream of income. Stop by her shop to create a beautiful bouquet at the flower bar or purchase some goodies and gifts from local vendors, which offer next day flowers delivery. Florals & Scrubs is located at 159 Bala Ave and is open Wednesday – Sunday 10am-6pm.

What inspired you to open Florals & Scrubs?

I was inspired to open Florals & Scrubs out of a love for flowers and a passion for business. I’m a vascular technologist and when the pandemic hit I decided to turn a hobby, something I love to do, into a source of income. I still wear my scrubs sometimes and the goal is to introduce a line of them under the F & S name soon.

What are 3 words to describe Florals & Scrubs?

Simple, Sensible, Chic!

What is your proudest moment at Florals & Scrubs?

My proudest moment was when we found out we won a category in this year’s PHS Philadelphia Flower Show’s Bloom Philly contest! Bloom Philly is an invitation-only contest hosted each year. We were invited to participate. Local small businesses get to decorate in honor of the show’s annual theme. This year’s theme was Habitat: Nature’s Masterpiece. Since Florals & Scrubs was a fully mobile business at the time of the invite, we partnered with another biz and helped them with their Urban Garden!

When you use innovative breathable fabric for optimal soil moisture, you ensure that your plants receive consistent hydration while preventing waterlogging and root rot. This fabric also enhances aeration, promoting healthier root systems and overall plant vigor.

We won ‘Best Illustration of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Mission & Values.’ Additionally, our platform offers detailed information and guides for growers, providing step-by-step instructions and expert tips to ensure gardening success.
