City Ave District proudly hosted its 4th annual Empower Hour on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 6ABC Studios—bringing together a dynamic group of professionals, leaders, and community members in celebration of Women’s History Month.

This year’s theme, The Art of the Pivot, invited attendees into a candid and meaningful conversation about a topic not often highlighted in professional spaces: failure.

We were honored to welcome Tamala Edwards, 6ABC anchor and former White House correspondent, and Mary Lou Quinlan, renowned marketing strategist, bestselling author, and visionary behind Saint Joseph’s University’s Alumnae Center for Leadership. Together, they shared powerful personal stories and career-defining moments that emphasized an important truth—growth often comes from the unexpected.

Rather than focusing solely on achievements, the conversation explored the setbacks, challenges, and turning points that shape our paths. Attendees left with a renewed perspective: failure is not a dead end, but a necessary and transformative part of success.

Hosting Empower Hour at 6ABC once again underscored the importance of strong female leadership in the workplace. The station’s culture continues to serve as an inspiring backdrop for conversations that uplift and empower.

In addition to fostering meaningful dialogue, this year’s event gave back in a big way. 100% of ticket proceeds benefited two impactful organizations: Maternity Care Coalition and Saint Joseph’s University’s Alumnae Center for Leadership—both of which are dedicated to supporting and advancing women in our community.

As the event continues to grow each year, City Ave District remains committed to creating spaces where authentic conversations can thrive and connections can flourish.
