Safety Above All
We’re committed to safety over everything else – and it shows. Since City Ave District was founded in 1999 with the goal of improving public safety, crime in the district has dropped by 55% and counting. Take a walk through City Ave District today and discover a well-lit, bustling enclave and the best kinds of outdoor activity.
Help On Wheels
City Ave District employs Community Service Representatives (CSRs for short) – public ambassadors who patrol the corridor on bicycle. Beyond serving as extra eyes and ears for the Lower Merion and Philadelphia police departments, CSRs are information goldmines, offering help to people on the go. Giving directions, lending a hand with car troubles, administering first aid – it’s all in a day’s work for City Ave District Community Service Representatives!
Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth Is
City Ave District has grown and evolved over the past two decades, but safety remains our primary focus. Every year, more than half of the district’s annual budget is dedicated to our public safety initiatives and team.
“City Ave District has been a driving force in improving the City Ave area. It has helped improve the flow of traffic, modernize zoning regulations and create a safer environment – all of which fosters a neighborhood that can both attract and retain high-quality tenants. The area has always benefited from its prime location, but the district’s work has helped assure property owners that they will be able to upgrade their properties and ensure it remains one of Philadelphia’s most attractive and prosperous commercial corridors.”
