The City Ave District, in partnership with The Lower Merion Township, was the honored recipient of two annual awards this week from Communities in Motion, a foundation of the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association (GFV). The group held their 2nd Annual Star Awards in Valley Forge on December 8.

The awards were for the St. Asaph’s Road signal system and pedestrian improvements (Physical Improvements category), and the City Avenue Connectivity Study (Planning category). The study can be viewed here.

Communities in Motion works to create a more sustainable community while improving the quality of life,” the organization said in a statement. “Our work will directly benefit the children and parents that live, work and play in our community. If we can have children and families walking our trails, riding bikes, utilizing our public transportation network and parks system, it ultimately benefits the community of these residents.
