Introducing City Ave 2.0
Since 2021, City Ave District has invested more than $15.4 million in capital improvements including the completed three-phased Streetscape and Safety Improvement Plan. New and upgraded lighting, pedestrian and traffic patterns, and greenery abound. There’s no denying: City Ave District is safer, easier to navigate, and more desirable than ever before.
Hitting Our Stride
City Ave District is increasingly walkable – and safer for cyclists, too. Recent improvements have prioritized multi-modal access for pedestrians, bicyclists, and people of all abilities, ensuring visitors and residents are safe no matter how they get here or how they get around. Bonus: These improvements attract development and spur economic growth.
We’re Always Improving
Through these capital improvements, we’re making City Ave safer, more attractive, and easier to navigate. Right now, we are working on calming traffic and congestion, along with improved pedestrian and multi-modal accessibility. Explore some of the recent upgrades CASSD has implemented to public spaces here in the District.
“As a multifamily property owner along the City Avenue corridor for over 25 years, I have witnessed a remarkable transformation. For starters, City Avenue has been repaved, trees planted, crosswalks improved, and the traffic lights timed. It looks better, it’s safer, and it’s easier to get around. There is a renewed energy, and people want to live, work, and play here again. So glad I stayed.”
