Meet Jeremy Dean Harrison, Board Member of the Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd.
As a resident of the area, Jeremy and his family love attending community events and
are advocates of the growth and development taking place within the district.
- How did you first learn about the Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd?
When I moved to Bala Cynwyd I immediately knew I wanted to get involved in the community. I saw that the area was in transition and I wanted to both serve the community and have a voice in shaping the future. I found that the Neighborhood Club was an active civics organization that would allow me the opportunity to serve.
- What is your role within the Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd?
I am a first-year board member. Currently, my main role is on the Community Watch Committee. I also assist with the membership and media.
- What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I wrote and produced music for Geffen Records in Los Angeles. Ghost writing is a term when you contribute to a project without getting credit. The deal with Geffen opened a lot of doors that led to many unusual and interesting experiences.
- How has Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd helped you in your career development?
Networking. Not being from the area, the Neighborhood Club has allowed me to meet thought leaders in the community.
- What are 3 words to describe Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd?
Engaging. Challenging. Meaningful.
- What is the favorite part about being apart of the Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd?
My favorite part of being on the Neighborhood Club is the ability to interact with such a diverse community of people. I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing neighbors and listen to their concerns and ideas for the future of this community.
- What is your proudest moment at Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd?
My family is the most important variable in my life. By being a part of the Neighborhood Club, it shows my family the importance of civic engagement, service and making hard decisions that affect a community of people. I want to be a good example to my wife and daughter as well as the other youth in the community.
- Any favorite line from a movie?
I don’t regret the things I’ve done, but those I did not do. – from Empire Records. While living in Los Angeles I met some pretty unique characters. One of my favorite interactions was with a man named Alan Moyle. He was one of the kindest and wisest people I had ever met. I never knew he wrote and directed one of my favorite movies until many years after I met him.

I am currently reading 12 Rules for Life… An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson

- What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
I would pay off student loans.
- What is your favorite thing to do in the area?
My family and I enjoy being out in nature.
- What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I would love to become a Medical Doctor someday and open up a holistic practice.
- You’re happiest when?
I am with my wife and daughter.
- Is there anything special about City Ave that you can share?
City Ave is positioned to create a lot of value for the community. It has a lot of potential to be a place that neighbors in the community can enjoy great experiences. There is a lot of work to do to create the City Ave gateway to one of the most beautiful communities I have ever lived in. Lower Merion is a unique and majestic place to live. City Ave is the front door to that community and will determine a lot about how the future of Bala Cynwyd plays out in the long run.
