SEPTA Strike: Some Suburban Services Still Running

Though many SEPTA workers went on strike at midnight, Oct. 31st, several suburban services are still running, the authority confirms on its online service interruption guide. In addition to the Regional Rail service (including the Paoli-Thorndale Line with eight stops through Lower Merion and Narberth, and the Cynwyd Line, with two stops in the Township), the following services are also continuing:

• Norristown High Speed Line
• Suburban Bus & Trolley Routes 101 & 102
• LUCY (Loop through University City), Route 310 (Horsham Breeze), Routes 204, 205, and Cornwells Heights Parking Shuttle
• CCT Connect: Regular service will operate for registered ADA and Shared Ride customers. There may be some delays due to increased demand and local street traffic.

SEPTA service that is shut down due to the strike include all Philadelphia bus and subway service, and trolley routes 10, 11, 13, 15, 34, and 36.

All active routes including Regional Rail will be impacted by crowded trains and delays.

Also, SEPTA staff will generally not accept cash onboard trains for the duration of the strike – riders are asked to use either prepaid cards or to purchase tickets at station counters prior to boarding.
