SEPTA’s contract expired at midnight last and City Transit Service has been suspended. Here is the breakdown of services as provided by SEPTA’s 2016 Service interruption information Guide:

WILL REMAIN IN SERVICE:

  • Regional Rail
  • Norristown High Speed Line
  • Suburban Buses and Trolley Routes 101 and 101
    • With some modifications to schedules*
  • LUCY (Loop through University City), Route 310 (Horsham Breeze), Routes 204, 205, and Cornwells Heights Parking Shuttle)
  • CCT Connect

WILL BE OUT OF SERVICE

  • City Bus Routes (This includes Route 78, Cornwells Heights to Center City Express)
  • Market Frankford Line
  • Broad Street & Broad Ridge Spur Lines
  • Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 15, 34, and 36

If your business or organization is not in the city, how will you be impacted?  Employees and patrons coming from Philadelphia will be impacted due to modifications on some of the suburban bus routes and/or by increased riders on Regional Rail. Employees and patrons should be provided the following information:


Regional Rail

  • “During the AM travel (5:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.), customers traveling from outlying stations towards Center City should purchase their tickets at the Station Ticket Office or from SEPTA Ticket Sales personnel on the platform before boarding the train. During the PM travel (2:45 p.m. – 7:00 m.), customers will be asked to wait in line at the concourse level at University City, 30th St, Suburban, Jefferson, and Temple University Stations.
  • ALL prepaid fares (no cash) will be collected prior to boarding the train and all passes will be subject to inspection and validation by SEPTA fare collection personnel. Stations without Ticket Offices or SEPTA Ticket Sales staff, fares can be purchased on board the train at all times.”
  • Express trains may make additional stops to accommodate increase ridership


Bus Routes*

Employees and patrons traveling to King of Prussia and Valley Forge should be aware of changes to:

  • Route 124:  Will not service 13th and Market St, 29th and Market St, or Wissahickon Transportation center. ALL service will begin and end at Villanova Station. The schedule times have been modified. The temporary schedule can be found here.
  • Route 125: Will not service 13th and Market St, 29th and Market St, or Wissahickon Transportation center. ALL service will begin and end at Villanova Station. The schedule times have been modified. The temporary schedule can be found here.

 

Employees and patrons traveling to Ardmore and/or Rosemont should be aware of changes to:

  • Route 103: ALL trips to/from Ardmore will bypass Overbrook Park using Victory Ave., West Chester Pike, Lynn Blvd., and Township Line Rd. Scheduled service to/from Overbrook Park will not operate. The temporary schedule can be found here.
  • Route 105: The current schedule will operate. ALL trips will bypass Overbrook using Victory Ave., West Chester Pike, Lynn Blvd., Township Line Rd. City Ave. service to 63rd & Malvern will be discontinued. The temporary schedule can be found here.

 

Employees and patrons traveling to Paoli should be aware of changes to:

  • Route 106: The current schedule will operate. Short-turn trips to/from Overbrook Park will not operate. All trips will bypass Overbrook Park using Victory Ave., West Chester Pike, Lynn Blvd., Township Line Rd., City Ave. Scheduled service to/from Overbrook Park will not operate. Employees and patrons traveling to Willow Grove should be aware of changes to:

  • Route 301: ALL service will begin/end at North Hills Station (Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail Line) Monday-Friday ONLY. Saturday service will begin/end at Willow Grove Station. Service will operate every 30 minutes during AM/PM peaks to meet connecting trains and every 60 minutes during midday and evening hours. The temporary schedule can be found here.

Another convenient and less expensive alternative is allowing employees to telework (work from home) or have a flex-schedule allowing them to avoid peak commute times.
