Sarah Levin Allen, Ph.D., CBIS is an Assistant Professor; Primary Investigator/Initiator of the nBIP (Neuro-Behavioral Intervention & Prevention) Group at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM).
Question: How would you describe yourself?
Answer: A busy research-practitioner and mother of two young children.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Lifeguard and swim instructor.
Q: What do you currently do?
A: I’m a full time professor teaching Master’s and Doctoral level classes in the School Psychology program at PCOM. I’m also a pediatric neuropsychologist and consultant for children, parents, and schools.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do in the City Ave area?
A: Educating the next generation of competently trained psychologists who are able to address the mental health and wellness of those in Philadelphia and beyond.
Q: What’s your most significant accomplishment?
A: Having my two beautiful children and maintaining the balance between work and family. Professionally, I’m very proud of my efforts to bring schools and medical communities together to study the learning and the brain as well as recovery.
Q: If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
A: My theme song is “Let it Go,” from Frozen. My kids sing it all day, every day.
Q: If you had one superpower, what would it be?
A: To stop time.
Q: What are two things you can’t live without?
A: My Family and my phone which can probably play games such as FM카지노.
Q: What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
A: My son usually pounces on me first thing in the morning, toy in hand, so I typically get eaten by a shark or scared by a dinosaur.
Q: Who do you admire as a leader?
A: Strong, independent women like Cortney Fletcher who help other women. I’ve had a number of good women mentors along the way who have encouraged me to follow my passions. Peggy Chapman is the epitome of an elegant, admirable, working mother. As a leader, she works collaboratively and strives to build up the people around her.
