DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, June 6th\, the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) will be hosting an Open House and Guided Tours at our Belmont Water Treatment Plant located at 4300 W Ford Road\, Philadelphia\, PA 19131. \n\n\n\nThe Belmont Water Treatment Plant treats millions of gallons of water every day. It treats the water to make it clean and safe to drink before it reaches your tap. Come see how we do it! \n\n\n\nAt the event\, there will also be the following activities and resources: \n\n\n\n\nEmployee unit displays where you can learn about the different units at PWD and the work they do.\n\n\n\nInformation on PWD’s programs for upgrading water systems to bring you safe\, reliable drinking water today and tomorrow.\n\n\n\nTrade programs and reentry resources that can help jump start your career with the City of Philadelphia.\n\n\n\n\nThe event is taking place Saturday\, June 6th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. To take a guided tour\, you need to sign up for an available time slot online at water.phila.gov/open-house. Don’t delay! Tour space is limited. \n\n\n\nIf you or a community member is interested in taking a tour\, and you find there are no more available time slots\, please let me know and I may be able to help find an available time for you. Walk-ins are welcome\, however\, which tour time you can go on as a walk-in may depend on tour capacity. If you want to attend the Open House without taking a tour\, registration is not necessary. If you register for a tour and later realize you can’t make it\, we kindly ask you remove your registration so that others have the chance to take the tour. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, as a secure facility that treats drinking water\, visitors must sign-in when they arrive and provide a state-issued photo ID to take a tour. Our staff will greet you and help you as you arrive.

DESCRIPTION:Join the ULI Philadelphia Housing Product Council for a discussion and tour that will explore the evolution of Bala Cynwyd from car-centric office park to a walkable mixed-use district. Much of Bala Cynwyd falls within the City Ave District\, a unique special services district that spans two counties and municipalities–Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township.  \n\n\n\nHear from local leaders in a panel conversation as they discuss the role that new housing developments\, pedestrian improvements\, and collaboration have played in the transformation of this neighborhood.  \n\n\n\nIn addition to learning more about one of the region’s most ambitious suburban retrofits\, attendees will have the opportunity to tour The Blayr\, a new 217-unit apartment building developed by Federal Realty on the site of the former Lord & Taylor at 145 E. City Ave. \n\n\n\nThe program is designed to provide an on-the-ground look at how public policy\, community partnerships\, and private investment are converging to create a more walkable\, vibrant\, and resilient corridor.
