DESCRIPTION:Join us for a unique walk that will take us to parts of the trail connecting with City Avenue that haven’t been built yet.  Hear the plans for walkable trails from the Cynwyd Heritage Trail to City Avenue\, through City Avenue and back to the Cynwyd Heritage Trail via West Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Our leaders will be Chris Leswing\, Lower Merion Township Director of Building and Planning\, and Bonnie Perry from BTA.  We’ll walk through new residential and commercial developments and learn about pedestrian improvements and open space amenities being realized through new development in the City Avenue District. DESCRIPTION:The 36th Annual The Ben to The Shore Bike Tour on Sunday\, July 23rd\, 2023 is a charity bike ride that raises money to provide necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders and cultivate positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFamilies Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation provides resources to the families of the Fallen in their time of need. We witnessed their generosity when we lost Sean DeMuynck and then again when LMFD suffered a second tragic loss with Tom Royds. The Ben to the Shore Bike Tour will be held on July 23. We have a dozen of our members and their family members riding this year. The LMFD / LMPD team is approaching 50 members. Please join us in supporting this great cause. The first year of the program aims to provide participants with a strong foundation in digital photography while the second year focuses on expanding their knowledge to address social issues through photography.  This exhibition is a culmination of the students’ first year exploration into methods of storytelling through pictures. \n\n\n\nThe partnership with Ordinarie Heroes\, the Maguire Art Museum\, and faculty members from the Saint Joseph’s University Art and Art History Department\, gives a platform for youth voices to inspire critical thinking and dialogue. Krista Svalbonas\, SJU Art and Art History Department Faculty and Jeanne Bracy\, Associate Director of the Maguire Art Museum are curating the show together. \n\n\n\nTHE EXHIBIT WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT THE MAM IN 3 GALLERIES FROM AUG. 17 TO SEPT. 23\, 2023.
